GLENMONT— Three people were arrested Tuesday evening after a police chase that began with a reported larceny and ended with the chased motorist driving onto a busy soccer field at a local park, authorities said.
Officers from the Bethlehem Police Department responded to a reported larceny in progress at the local Walmart on Route 9W around 6 p.m. According to a police statement released Wednesday afternoon, the suspects sped out of the parking lot when an officer attempted a traffic stop.
The vehicle, a blue Ford Escape, continued to flee south on Route 9W, then west on Feura Bush Road, proceeding down an embankment and onto the soccer fields at Elm Avenue Park. The three occupants then fled on foot into a wooded area before officers were able to take them into custody…
