Man pleads to entire indictment in torched dog case

ALBANY — A man who starved a dog and then set it on fire after it died pleaded guilty Thursday to an indictment that accused him of animal cruelty.

The Albany County District Attorney’s Office stated that Christopher Maxwell, 34, rejected a plea offer from prosecutors and instead pleaded guilty to the entire indictment, placing himself at the court’s mercy when he is sentenced on Nov. 20.
