Boarding facility owners charged after dog dies in their care

GUILDERLAND, NY (WRGB) — The owners of a Guilderland animal boarding facility are facing charges, after a dog that was staying with them died while in their care.

On September 2, 2025 the Guilderland Police Department received a call from a person reporting that her dog passed away at a boarding facility on Meadowdale Road in the Town of Guilderland and she felt the death appeared suspicious. The owner stated she was notified by the owners of Meadowdale Acres that her 2-year-old pitbull mix, named Diesel, had passed away.

Members of the Guilderland Police Department began an investigation with the assistance of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and as a result, the owners of Meadowdale Acres, 79-year-old Stuart Reese, 79-year-old Marilyn Reese, and 44-year-old Jonathan Tinney were arrested and charged with the class “A” Misdemeanor Cruelty to Animals under the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law for failure to provide sustenance.
