Residents urged to follow safety measures amid heightened fire danger in New York

ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) — The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is warning residents about increased wildfire risks as warm, dry weather persists across the state.

The town of Hunter in Greene County declared a State of Emergency on Saturday due to “severe drought conditions and the threat of wildfires caused by outdoor burning, and its imminent threat to the health and welfare of Town of Hunter citizens.”
