LATHAM – A 22-year-old Latham man faces DWAI-Drug charges after a traffic stop on Saturday, Aug. 30.
According to reports, police stopped a white Honda Civic near the intersection of Feiden Land and Watervliet Shaker Road at 12:51 a.m. for multiple traffic violations. Upon interviewing the driver, officers observed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and the man had watery and droopy eyes.
The man was given and failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for further evaluation by a drug recognition expert. An investigation found he did not have a valid license, and the vehicle was not registered. He was charged with DWAI-Drugs and aggravated unlicensed operation, both misdemeanors, and ticketed for failure to keep right, running a red light, and operating an unregistered motor vehicle…
