Dispute involving bat, knife outside Samaritan Hospital in Troy carries into waiting area

TROY — A fight involving a bat and a knife allegedly began outside Samaritan Hospital on Sunday morning and carried over into a waiting area, according to Troy police.

Troy police first received a report of a “domestic incident” about 7:30 a.m. Some of the people involved in that incident went to the Burdett Avenue facility for treatment, police said.

While they were outside the hospital, more people arrived at the facility and engaged in a fight, during which at least one person wielded a bat and another person used a knife, police said. That dispute carried into the hospital’s emergency room waiting area…
