MECHANICVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Police arrested a Mechanicville woman over the weekend as a result of an assault investigation. Amanda Traxon, 30, faces several charges.

Officers responded to a Mechanicville residence on Sunday following up on a report of a violent domestic dispute. Investigators determined that Traxon allegedly stabbed a person at the home during an altercation, causing serious injuries to the victim’s upper body.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to recover, according to Mechanicville Police. Detectives located Traxon in Clifton Park later in the day and took her into custody without further incident.

Traxon was charged with first-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She was held at the Saratoga County Jail after being arraigned in Mechanicville City Court.
