Police identify person found dead in Mohawk River

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Schenectady Police Department has identified the person who was found dead in the Mohawk River on Sunday. He was a 46-year-old Schenectady resident named Johnny Brown.

The investigation into this incident began on Sunday after a body was recovered from the Mohawk River in Schenectady, where he was reportedly found floating in the water near Rivers Casino. Schenectady Police had responded to the scene at around 1:40 p.m.

Police said an autopsy was conducted and Brown’s death is not considered suspicious at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
