Opening statements wrapped up Wednesday morning in the trial of a Schenectady woman accused of dropping her baby down a drainage pipe.
Persia Nelson is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the death of her 11-month-old daughter Halo Branton in March 2024.
