Albany, NY (WRGB) — Albany County Sheriff Craig D. Apple, Sr. announced the arrests of three Albany residents following a search warrant execution on October 1, 2025, at approximately 6 AM. The operation, conducted by the Albany County Sheriff’s Community Oriented Policing Effort Unit (SCOPE), targeted two apartments on Washington Avenue as part of an ongoing investigation into narcotics trafficking.
According to a release, in a basement apartment, investigators recovered about 10.5 grams of crack cocaine, along with a digital scale and packaging materials, indicating the drugs were intended for distribution. The occupants, 32-year-old Brandon Randolph and 18-year-old Jahmir Simmons, were taken into custody.
A separate search of the second apartment yielded a quantity of morphine pills and approximately 16.5 grams of ketamine, along with similar paraphernalia. The occupant, 35-year-old Betsy Harwell, was also arrested.
Randolph and Simmons face charges including Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third and Fourth Degrees, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree.
