The man who died in prison just a month into his sentence for raping and killing a 3-year-old girl in Rensselaer had some type of “medical emergency,” according to a report obtained by NewsChannel 13.
Robert Fisher was sentenced to 20 years to life for killing Josefina Cunningham in July 2023. Fisher entered prison on Sept. 23, 2024. One month later, NewsChannel 13 was first to report that he died on Oct. 22 around 1:50 a.m. at Elmira Correctional Facility in Chemung County.
