From a new bookstore in Averill Park to an expansion project in Menands, here’s business-related news from across the Capital Region in brief:
Direct-mail company The Mailworks to expand Menands facility
Direct-mail marketing company The Mailworks will expand its Menands facility with the purchase of a 40,000-square-foot facility, according to a news release from the company. Executives at The Mailworks have a signed contract to purchase the property located at 5 Elmwood Road in Menands, which is just over 1 mile away from its headquarters at 236 Broadway.
The space will nearly double the capacity of its current facility, bringing it to a total of 93,000 square feet, the news release reads. The space was once home to the bowling alley Olympic Lanes and has been vacant for years, according to the news release. The purchase will be an investment of over $6 million, and renovations are expected to be complete in the first half of 2026.
“As a child, I bowled with my father at Olympic Lanes, so bringing The Mailworks here feels personal. I was a terrible bowler, but luckily, I’ve always been better at business than bowling,” Brianne Baggetta, president and CEO of The Mailworks, said in a statement. “The expansion will give our team the capacity to scale, while also deepening our ability to support businesses right here in the Capital Region.”…
