5 dead in Albany house fire

ALBANY — A fire on Twiller Street on Monday morning left five people dead.

When fire crews arrived at the two-story home at 23 Twiller St. in the Delaware Avenue neighborhood, just before 10:45 a.m., they found the house engulfed in flames, with fire shooting out the first-floor window. More than 40 firefighters responded to the scene.

Two children,ages 3 and 4, and a 52-year-old man, were transported to Albany Medical Center and died at the hospital.
