Seven years since deadly Schoharie limo crash

SCHOHARIE, N.Y. (WNYT) — It was seven years ago, when 20 people died after a limousine crashed in Schoharie.

On the afternoon of Oct. 6, 2018, the rented limo’s brakes failed, and it went careening down a hill. The limo crashed into two people in the parking lot of the Apple Barrel restaurant at the corner of Route 30 and Route 30A in Schoharie. The driver, 17 passengers and two people in the parking lot of the restaurant were killed.

The operator of the limo company, Nauman Hussain. is serving a sentence of 5 to 15 years in prison after being convicted of manslaughter. Prosecutors said he allowed the Ford Excursion stretch limousine to remain on the road, even though the brakes needed to be redone, and the vehicle was not properly inspected…
