Human Remains Found in Schenectady During Excavation

An investigation is underway in Schenectady following the discovery of human remains on Monday (October 13) at the corner of Westover Place and Georgetta Dix Plaza. Workers conducting excavation work unearthed an iron casket believed to date back to the 1800s.

According to Times Union, the remains were found inside the casket, and authorities do not suspect any foul play. The site is not being treated as a crime scene, but police have secured the area while the investigation continues.
