Montgomery County, NY (WRGB) — Four people are facing charges after reportedly stealing more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from a Target store in Amsterdam earlier this month, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects, identified as 53-year-old Matthew Richards of Ilion, NY; 44-year-old Donald Terzi of Herkimer, NY; 39-year-old Tiffany Terzi of Herkimer, NY; and 66-year-old Amy Steele of Herkimer, NY, face charges including grand larceny in the fourth degree, conspiracy in the fifth degree, and petit larceny.
Authorities say they responded to a report of a larceny in progress at the Target on State Highway 30 around 2:52 PM on October 13, 2025. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had fled, but patrols soon located their vehicle traveling southbound on the same highway.
Investigators say the group was connected to two separate incidents of retail theft from the same store, with stolen items valued at $738.94 on October 5 and $843.01 on October 13, totaling $1,581.95.
