Gas Prices in Capital Region Continue to Fall

Gas prices in the Capital Region are on a steady decline, providing relief to motorists. According to AAA, the average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline is now $3.10, down two cents from last week and nine cents from a month ago. The state average is slightly higher at $3.13, while the national average stands at $3.04.

The decrease in prices is attributed to several factors. The Energy Information Administration reports that gasoline demand has dropped to a four-month low, contributing to the continued decline in pump prices. Additionally, the transition from summer-grade to winter-grade fuel and higher gasoline inventories at the end of the third quarter are expected to further reduce prices in the coming weeks.
