Albany woman honors grandfather’s legacy with new coffee brand “222 Brew”

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) – A new local coffee brand is brewing a legacy in the Capital Region. Rosa Commisso, owner of 222 Brew, says her business was inspired by her late grandfather, who once owned and operated the Albany Coffee Starr Shop on Lark Street in downtown Albany.

“I heard all of the stories about him serving coffee downtown, and this is a way to continue his legacy,” Commisso said.

The brand features two signature cold-brew espresso options: a caffeinated version in a white can and a decaffeinated version in a black can. Commisso says the decaf option was created with evening espresso martinis in mind, offering the same bold flavor without the late-night caffeine kick…
