ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An investigation is underway after a car crashed into a North Pearl Street restaurant overnight on Monday, according to the Albany Police Department. No arrests have been reported as of Tuesday afternoon.

At about 1:30 a.m., Albany police attempted a traffic stop on a car near Lexington Avenue and Sheridan Avenue for reportedly failing to stop at a stop sign. The driver briefly stopped for the officers before fleeing in the vehicle, which officers did not pursue, authorities said.
A short time later, the car allegedly crashed into the front of The Hollow Bar + Kitchen, located at 79 North Pearl Street, and the driver fled from the scene prior to police arrival. Officers later found a loaded handgun inside the car, the department said.
