ALBANY — Nauman Hussain is refusing to sit for a videotaped deposition from Attica Correctional Facility, where he is serving 5 to 15 years for manslaughter in the deaths of 20 people in the 2018 limousine crash in Schoharie.
The deposition had been ordered by state Supreme Court Justice Denise Hartman as part of the ongoing civil lawsuits filed by the families of the victims of the crash against Hussain and his father, Shahed Hussain, who lives overseas. The two operated Prestige Limousine, the unlicensed limousine service, which they ran out of their former motel in Wilton.
Nauman Hussain, 35, was tried in May 2023 at the Schoharie County Courthouse and found guilty on 20 counts of second-degree manslaughter for renting out the stretch 2001 Ford Excursion that was involved in the crash and had twice been ordered off the road by a state transportation inspector for being unsafe…
