Schenectady man sentenced for illegal gun possession on NYS Thruway

Guilderland, NY (WRGB) — A 22-year-old Schenectady man, Trejon Faircloth, has been sentenced to 4 years in state prison for possessing an illegal gun on the New York State Thruway. Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon announced the sentencing, which was handed down by Judge Andra Ackerman. Faircloth will also serve 5 years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

The incident occurred on May 10 at 11:42 PM when New York State Police stopped a vehicle traveling west on I-90 in Guilderland for multiple traffic violations. Faircloth, who was on probation, was found with a suspended driver’s license and an expired inspection sticker. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded gun .40 caliber handgun under the driver’s seat and a backpack containing narcotics, including 149 grams of oxycodone pills, 84 grams of heroin, 41.5 grams of cocaine, and three ounces of cannabis. Additionally, Faircloth was found with scales, baggies consistent with distribution, and $2,200 in cash…
