SARATOGA SPRINGS — Saying it will make the city’s transit system more nimble, the CEO of Capital District Transportation Authority said the organization will suspend services of two city buses and replace them with two smaller, on-demand FLEX vans by the end of November.
“In August, we started the process of service rebalancing,” CEO Frank Annicaro said Thursday. “We took a look at our entire system to optimize it. … We have low ridership in Saratoga, 110 people a day. Replacing the buses with smaller vehicles that are less costly to operate will be more efficient. It will also let us cover more ground.”
It works like this: Those who ride the 451 and 452, the city’s two exclusive buses, will now need to call 518-482-8822 or use the CDTA Navigator app to get a ride on a FLEX van at a bus stop.
