MILTON — Police have identified the pilot who died in a plane crash not far from Saratoga County Airport on Friday.
Fredrick “Fredd”M. Baber, 58, of Port Charlotte, Fla., was piloting the single-engine plane when it crashed at 10:27 a.m. as it was taking off from the Saratoga County Airport’s runway, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. The plane hit a tree and came down in a driveway next to a home on Wyndham Way, a small street with a cul-de-sac that backs up to the airport.
A passenger on the plane, Alexander Hoff, 39, of Hollis, New Hampshire, was seriously injured in the crash and remained hospitalized at Albany Medical Center on Saturday, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office…
