Persistent felon could spend life in prison for Albany burglary

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) — A 56-year-old man with more than 40 criminal convictions could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Michael Maye was sentenced in Albany County Court on Monday to 19 years to life after being found guilty in August of breaking into a home multiple times.

Prosecutors said Maye broke into home on South Pearl Street on March 29 while several residents, many of whom were minors, were sleeping. He stole a number of items, including a credit card that he was seen on surveillance video attempting to buy cigarettes shortly after the burglary, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office…
