Man faces more charges in deadly wrong-way crash on 787

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) – The Coxsackie man police said was driving the wrong way on 787 and caused a deadly crash is facing more charges.

Lewis C. Thomas, 44, is accused of driving the wrong way on Oct. 12 around 4:40 a.m. in the area of Exit 2. The crash killed Eric Hurley, 38, who worked at the Watervliet water plant and had also worked for the Albany Water Department as well.

State Police said on Monday that Thomas is facing driving while intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic law violations. He had previously been arraigned at his hospital bedside on charges of second-degree manslaughter, second-degree assault and second-degree vehicular manslaughter…
