Albany Common Council overhauls cabaret licensing law

ALBANY — A divided Common Council passed an ordinance overhauling legislation that allows bars and other businesses to play music.

The revisions to the city’s cabaret license law, now referred to as accessory entertainment, make a number of changes designed to streamline the application process and provide stability for businesses that provide musical entertainment.
