Snide remains in custody after Indictment for July crash

ALBANY — Jacob Snide, the 33-year-old man indicted in early October on four counts — including two felony charges, second-degree manslaughter and second-degree assault, and two misdemeanor counts of reckless driving — was back in court on Oct. 30.

The charges stem from a July crash on Route 9W in Glenmont that killed 32-year-old motorcyclist and father Patrick Lafortune, Jr. of Schenectady. The indictment accused Snide of operating a vehicle that crossed the road’s yellow divider and collided with LaFortune. Lafortune was also a Bethlehem Central High School alumni.

A half hour before the fatal accident on 9W, Snide was allegedly involved in a separate crash incident in Albany at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Quail Street…
