Regional Food Bank sets up drive-thru food pantries, says it needs volunteers

LATHAM, N.Y. (WNYT)- With the uncertainty surrounding SNAP benefits, the Regional Food Bank says it has “launched an aggressive strategy to keep families’ plates full” with multiple drive-thru food pantry dates scheduled throughout the state, including the Capital Region.

“Millions of New York families, children and seniors do not to know where their next meal is coming from,” Regional Food Bank CEO, Tom Nardacci said. “We want our neighbors to know we’re here to help.”

Drive-thru food pantries started this week with some scheduled Friday and this weekend. The Regional Food Bank says it also needs volunteers. People can sign up to volunteer on the volunteer section of the Regional Food Bank’s website…
