CDTA offering free rides to veterans on Veterans Day

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Capital District Transportation Authority announced it will be offering veterans in the Capital Region free fixed-route service rides on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11. The Northway Xpress and Thruway Xpress commuter services will not run on Tuesday in observance of Veterans Day.

Along with veterans, all service men and women with a valid military identification will be able to ride fixed-route services free of charge. The CDTA sales window at 85 Watervliet Avenue in Albany will be closed on Tuesday, but will reopen at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

CDTA also has a half-fare veterans program all year-round for honorably discharged veterans. A full list of documentation needed to qualify for the program is on the CDTA website.
