Former Mohonasen High School and University at Albany standout runner Cara Udvadia captured her fourth women’s title in the MVP Health Care Stockade-athon 15K on Sunday in Schenectady, while last year’s men’s runner-up Grant O’Connor took the top spot this time, winning by more than two minutes.
Udvadia, a Clifton Park resident, navigated the course in 53 minutes and one second, trimming 49 seconds off her winning time from a year ago. She ran the opening 5K in 17:52 and the second 5K in 18 minutes flat, before dropping a 17:10 over the final third of the race to outkick runner-up Amy Tortorello of Watertown, Mass.
Udvadia and Tortorello were neck-and-neck through the first 10 kilometers, with Udvadia ultimately finishing 10 seconds ahead of Tortorello, who crossed the finish line in 53:11…
