NASSAU — Patricia A. Balcom had celebrated her 80th birthday just weeks before she was killed Monday afternoon by another vehicle that crashed head-on into hers.
Balcom, of Chatham, was driving west around 2 p.m. on U.S. Route 20 between state Route 66 and Kinderhook Lane when an eastbound driver crossed into the other lane and crashed into her vehicle, according to State Police. Balcom was declared dead at the scene. The other driver was taken to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries and is currently listed in stable condition.
Police publicly named Balcom as the person who died in the crash on Wednesday. The incident remains under investigation…
