Albany man sentenced to prison for 2024 armed robbery

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– An Albany man received a prison sentence Thursday for robbing a convenience store on Hudson Avenue in November 2024. According to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office, Andrew Jackson was sentenced to 12 years in prison, followed by 5 years of probation.

Jackson was arrested following an armed robbery at the Pines Hills Market around 1:30 p.m. on November 8, 2024. According to police, he grabbed a Twisted Tea can from the cooler, placed it on the counter and then told the cashier to empty the register.

Police said he pulled a gun from his waistband and told the cashier he’d shoot him if he didn’t comply. He then took $200 in cash and left.

According to the DA’s office, officers identified Jackson through fingerprint DNA on the can. He was charged with first degree attempted murder, which he later pleaded guilty to…
