Mall officials stated that the North American Police Work Dog Association worked with Nova, and the United States Police Canine Association trained Sasha for their certifications. For Nova, she can assist in conducting searches that lead to identifying suspects or recovering evidence, and Sasha can detect explosives.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nova and Ed and Sasha and Ken to the Crossgates team,” Crossgates General Manager Jennifer Smith said. “Their extensive experience and training support our ongoing efforts to create a safe, family-friendly environment where all guests can feel comfortable and secure while enjoying everything Crossgates has to offer.”
