COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10)– After being stabbed twice during a robbery at the Taco Bell on Wolf Road in Colonie, one employee, Shanon, is still shaken, but grateful to be alive. He’s now speaking out, calling for better safety protocols and de-escalation training to protect workers in fast food restaurants.
“I’m still alive, and I get to see my daughter every day,” said Shanon.
Shanon has worked at the Taco Bell for nearly a year. He said in his time in the food service industry he’s worked with upset customers. Although he never imagined he’d find himself in a situation that could have cost him his life.

“I had no choice but to help out,” said Shanon. “I’m not going to just sit there and watch somebody get beat on. I’m not that kind of guy.”…
