Authorities set to indict suspect in killing on bike trail in Menands

MENANDS — The person who prosecutors believe killed a 76-year-old man on the Mohawk Hudson Bike Hike Trail in April 2024 is set to appear in court on murder charges Monday.

An indictment set to be unsealed at 9:30 a.m. in Albany County Court charges the person, who has not been named, with one count of second-degree murder death of Daniel Frament, whose was found dead on April 18, 2024.

The person charged with killing Frament was already in the custody of the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision on separate charges, a source with knowledge of the investigation said Friday…
