With Thanksgiving just days away, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office is once again stepping up to make sure local families have a warm holiday meal. Sheriff Craig Apple says his team is preparing thousands of Thanksgiving dinners for delivery across the Capital Region.
Thanks to partnerships with community supporters like Capital City Rescue Mission, ShopRite, Cisco, and Old World Provisions, the Sheriff’s Office has gathered everything needed for this massive effort — including 900 pounds of turkey. Volunteers and staff have already begun cooking, carving, and assembling dinners that will be packed and sent out early this week.
This year, the Sheriff’s Office expects to deliver at least 3,500 individual meals, along with another 1,000 bulk meals for homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, first responders, and emergency room staff…
