ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — A Rotterdam man, Matthew Merriman, faces felony charges following a fatal car crash on Everett Road near the I-90 exit ramp in October. Merriman was arrested by Albany police, who initially suspected he was under the influence of alcohol. The victim, identified as Mardon, was killed in the accident on Sept. 30. Mardon’s family attended the court proceedings, seeking justice for their loss.
Saratoga County Sheriff Capt. Dan Morley highlighted the ongoing statewide campaign to combat impaired driving, especially as the holiday season approaches.
“I mean, this past weekend is an example. We had five drunk driving arrests alone, including two crashes, one that involves somebody that struck one of our patrol cars and injured a deputy,” Morley said…
