Rensselaer County man pleads guilty to triple murder of family

TROY, N.Y. (WNYT) – A Rensselaer County man pleaded guilty on Monday in the triple murder of his family.

Joshua Fowler, 26, admitted to killing his wife Whitney Fowler, father Wilson Fowler and step-grandmother Anita Crandall at their Cropseyville home in the town of Grafton on June 18, according to the Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office.

Fowler told the court that he shot each person separately with a rifle, according to prosecutors. The crime began as a domestic incident just after 6:30 p.m. that evening.
