Police: Man charged in Menands bike path killing did not know the victim

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) – The man accused of killing a 76-year-old man on the Menands-Hudson Bike Trail in April 2024 was arraigned in court on Monday.

Albino Zacarias-Garcia, 24, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Daniel Frament on April 18, 2024. Frament was found on the path with severe head trauma. Frament, a retired attorney and U.S. Army veteran, frequently walked the path.

Investigators said Zacarias-Garcia and Frament did not know each other and it was not a robbery…
