Crews battle multi-alarm fire in Troy

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– Firefighters are on scene at a structure fire on the 500 block of Second Street in Troy. According to the fire department, the fire broke out at 566 Second Street around 6:25 a.m.

According to the Troy Fire Department, when crews arrived, they were met with a heavy smoke and flames from the roof of the building. One resident was hanging out of a second-story window, Chief Rich Cellucci said.

That resident was rescued by a ladder crew and was transported to the Albany Medical Center, along with another resident.

Cellucci said there were no injuries to any firefighters and the cause remains under investigation.

According to the fire department, residents told crews they woke up to the smoke and quickly evacuated. Cellucci said the American Red Cross has been contacted to assist the residents…
