Local businesses encourage shopping small on Small Business Saturday

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — After Black Friday, comes Small Business Saturday where communities encourage residents to support small businesses by shopping local. Across the region, local business owners are hoping to shed some light on the big impact small businesses have on the success and economic growth of their local communities and the state.

Festivities kick off in downtown Albany at 11 a.m. and at noon in downtown Troy and Schenectady.

The Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation is working with local stores to promote shopping local this weekend. Their campaign is highlighting various deals at some stores along Jay Street and around the rest of Schenectady.
