TROY — City police said a 41-year-old man was critically wounded Saturday night after he exchanged gunfire with patrol officers, who responded to a report of him chasing his ex-girlfriend and putting a gun to her head.
A woman called 911 around 10 p.m. to report that her former partner was chasing her at her home on Ferry Street and that the man had used a gun to threaten her. After he fled the woman’s residence, she tracked him and reported his movements to the dispatcher, police said in a news release issued Sunday morning.
Two patrol officers were the first to respond and found the suspect, Michael Rodriguez, of Troy, on a sidewalk on Ferry Street near Sixth Avenue.
