ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Swiss watchmaker has selected an Albany jewelry store to be its exclusive retailer for the Capital Region. Northeastern Fine Jewelry will soon begin displaying a selection of luxury watches from Hublot in the coming weeks.

Founded in 1980 and located on Western Avenue, Northeastern Fine Jewelry has been voted as the region’s top jeweler several times. Of Hublot’s designs, the Albany jeweler will carry timepieces like The Big Bang, Classic Fusion, and Spirit of Big Bang collections.

Designing a watch with gold and a rubber strap as its first model, Hublot drew inspiration for its first timepiece and its name from a ship’s porthole. Also founded in 1980, Hublot’s popularity skyrocketed in 2005 with the design of the Big Bang model.
