ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan and other officials held a press conference on Monday to discuss the city’s preparations for upcoming winter weather. A stream of the event can be watched in the video player above.

The Capital Region is anticipating widespread snow on Tuesday. NEWS10 meteorologists predict the storm will begin early in the morning and ramp up in intensity closer to noon, with 1 to 2 inches of snow per hour possible.
Sheehan said that the city of Albany has readied 63 pieces of winter equipment and cleanup crews will be moving to 12 hour shifts throughout the weather event. Roads have reportedly already been pretreated with brine and the city also plans to declare a Code Blue.
Additionally during the press conference, Department of General Services Commissioner Sergio Panunzio announced that trash pickup will be moved from 4 a.m. to 2 a.m. Residents will also have 24 hours to clean off their sidewalks following the storm…
