Troy police identify two city officers involved in weekend shootout with parolee

TROY — Police are continuing their investigation into a violent encounter over the weekend that left a parolee in the hospital after a shootout with two city patrol officers.

Police Chief Dan DeWolf, in a video message posted on social media Tuesday afternoon with Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello, identified the officers involved in the late Saturday night incident as Nicholas Peter, a 17-year veteran, and Tanner King, who has four years with the department.

The officers, according to a city police spokesman, remain “assigned to active duty.”…
