MILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Saratoga County sheriff’s deputy has been charged after he accidentally fired a shotgun inside his home, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. Alexander Stead, 32, of Milton has also been placed on administrative leave.

Authorities alleged that Stead had accidentally discharged the weapon into a wall adjacent a room occupied by another person. The incident reportedly occurred just after 11:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Lilith Fair Apartments.
According to the sheriff’s office, the deputy was not on duty at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.
Stead was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and released on an appearance ticket pending proceedings in the Milton Town Court. The sheriff’s office said he will remain on leave as they conduct an internal investigation…
