Assemblywoman says ICE agents are targeting Capital Region Afghan community

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- Assemblywoman Gabriella Romero says Federal ICE agents are targeting the local Afghan community after people were arrested outside the Masjid As-Salam mosque on Central Avenue in Albany this week.

The Times Union reported three people with ties to Afghanistan were arrested in Watervliet. This comes after an Afghan national shot two National Guard members in Washington DC last week.

Assemblywoman Romero says these recent arrests are inhumane and anti-American. She says she plans to take legislative action to prevent similar incidents…
