The Albany Police Department held a police academy graduation ceremony Friday, swearing in 11 new officers. It’s another handful of officers added to a department that has struggled with staffing in recent years.
Albany Police Chief Brendan Cox told CBS6 the officers who graduated on Friday engaged consistently with the community’s youth. Over the summer, the city and Capital Region saw a series of violent incidents involving young people.
