ROSENDALE — A driver and passenger were killed Tuesday after attempting to make a U-turn on the Thruway, causing a crash that also injured a 21-year-old Schenectady woman.
Shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday, the driver, 84-year-old Guillermo Olivera, entered the U-turn median near milepost marker 83 in the town of Rosendale, State Police said Wednesday in a statement. Olivera’s 2007 Nissan was struck by an oncoming car, causing it to “roll over several times,” killing passenger Esther Oliveras, police said.
