HUDSON — Three men are accused of covering up the circumstances surrounding a Fourth of July boat crash that killed a 21-year-old on Queechy Lake, the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office said.
The men allegedly lied to police about who was driving the 16-foot boat when it crashed into a dock at high speed in the early morning hours of the holiday, killing Henry Miller, who was thrown to the shore. The lake is in Canaan, on the New York-Massachusetts border, about 10 miles west of Lenox.
The alleged driver, Charles Bingham III, 21, is accused of drunkenly driving the boat at the time of the crash, causing Miller’s death. He pleaded not guilty Thursday to multiple charges, including felony manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, perjury and operating a vessel while impaired…
